Monograde oils with SAE 30 viscosity are lubricating oils generally formulated with detergent power, especially recommended for civil works machinery and stationary engines.

These oils are characterized by a wide range of applications, being suitable for aspirated and slightly supercharged diesel engines that work in moderate or severe conditions with frequent drain periods; low-power gasoline engines (such as lawnmowers, chainsaws, and generators), where a higher viscosity oil is required; or classic engines that require this type of viscosity for optimal performance.

• Due to its high detergency, SAE 30 oil eliminates any products originating from the combustion of the hottest parts of the engine, keeping the ring grooves clean and ensuring perfect sealing.
• It is a highly efficient lubricant that protects the engine’s metal parts against wear and tear, reducing the impact of friction.
• It remains in good condition for a long period of time and prolongs the engine’s useful life.
• Its alkaline reserve (TBN) allows it to protect the engine against corrosion, neutralizing the acids formed in the combustion of gasoils with different sulfur contents.
• It maintains adequate pressure under all service conditions.
• It offers good anti-wear properties for engine parts and makes maintains maximum power for longer.

In addition to these benefits, certain considerations must be taken into account when applying this lubricating oil. 

In cold weather, oils with SAE 30 viscosity tend to have slower fluidity as they are monograde, which can affect their lubrication during cold starts. In this sense, it may be advisable to consider multigrade oil options that offer better fluidity in low temperatures.

Meanwhile, it is not suitable for all modern engines, especially those that require lighter oils according to manufacturer specifications. In this sense, and as is also the case with the rest of lubricating oils, it is essential to follow the manufacturer’s recommendations.
